RIB Confirms the Arrest
The arrest was confirmed by RIB spokesperson Dr. Thierry Murangira.

Reports say Yampano had earlier gone into hiding after learning that complaints had been filed against him.
However, he later decided to present himself to investigators after realizing authorities were still searching for him.

Claims of Violence in Relationship
The case became more serious after reports linked the singer to alleged violence against his partner, known as Vava.
According to information shared publicly, Vava accused Yampano of physically hurting her during different incidents in their relationship.
She claimed the situation became worse during an incident that allegedly happened on 24 March 2026.
Vava explained that she and Yampano were driving together when she asked him to stop using his phone while driving.

Vava Says She Was Hit by the Car
Vava claimed that after leaving the vehicle and taking a motorcycle taxi, she noticed Yampano following them.

However, she alleges that he instead increased speed and hit them with the vehicle.
She also accused him of beating her, biting her nose, and threatening her during previous arguments.
