The victims included two elderly women from the same family and a 53-year-old man believed to have supplied the drink.

Residents say the women were looking for relief from stomach discomfort when they decided to consume the beverage.

Unfortunately, the situation quickly turned tragic after they became seriously ill.

First Victim Dies After Being Taken to Hospital

One of the women developed severe health complications shortly after drinking the alcohol.

She was rushed to a medical facility for treatment but later died.

Her death raised alarm among relatives and neighbors who began checking on others who had consumed the same drink.

Second Woman and Seller Also Die

Family members later discovered that the second woman had also passed away.

The following day, the man linked to the sale of the beverage reportedly died as well.

The three deaths have left the local community in shock.

Authorities Warn Against Unsafe Homemade Alcohol

Local leaders have used the incident to remind residents about the dangers of consuming alcohol that has not been inspected or approved by authorities.

Officials say products made outside regulated systems may contain harmful substances that can seriously affect human health.

Residents Urged to Buy Approved Products

Authorities encourage people to purchase beverages only from trusted and licensed producers.

They also advise residents to avoid drinks whose origin and production process cannot be verified.

Health Experts Highlight Serious Risks

Medical experts have repeatedly warned that unsafe alcohol can contain dangerous chemicals.

Because many homemade drinks are produced without proper safety standards, consumers often have no way of knowing whether the product is safe.

Illegal Alcohol Can Cause Severe Health Problems

Experts say contaminated alcohol can lead to poisoning, organ damage, long-term health complications, and even death.

For this reason, public awareness remains an important part of prevention efforts.

Government Continues Efforts to Protect Communities

Rwanda has increased efforts to fight the production and distribution of unsafe alcoholic beverages.

Authorities continue carrying out inspections, seizing illegal products, and educating the public about health risks.

Community Cooperation Remains Important

Officials believe residents can help reduce similar incidents by reporting illegal alcohol production and sales.

They say cooperation between communities and authorities is essential for protecting public health and saving lives.
