Dr Hakizimana Christian Book | A Message Calling Believers to Live Their Faith in Action

A new Christian book written in Kinyarwanda by Dr. Nicodème Hakizimana was launched on Sunday, November 30, 2025. The book focuses on a strong message: faith without action is empty. According to the author, many Christians speak about faith but do not show it through what they do in their daily lives. This book was created to help believers reconnect their words with their actions.

Dr Hakizimana explains that he wrote this book to help people leave sin, stop harmful habits, and give their lives fully to Christ. He believes true change comes when believers understand God’s Word and put it into practice.

Why He Wrote the Book

The author based his writing on three main goals:

  • To support lasting evangelism, even when the preacher is no longer present

  • To guide and train pastors and evangelists

  • To help families study the Bible at home

He said that written messages live longer than people.
“People die, but written teachings continue for generations,” he said.
He believes this book will continue to preach long after he is gone.

A Book for Pastors and All Christians

Dr Hakizimana said the book is especially helpful for church leaders, because they are responsible for teaching many people. The book offers them deeper understanding of Scripture and gives them ideas to share with their congregations.

For ordinary Christians, the book brings a message of hope and strength. He says those who feel weak in faith will be encouraged, and those trapped in bad habits will find a way to change.
“Those who have fallen will rise again. The tired will gain strength. Those living in the wrong ways will be transformed,” he said.

Why the Book Is Titled “Ubwami bw’Imana si ubw’amagambo”

The author says many Christians do not really understand the Kingdom of God. Some think being baptized or simply attending church is enough.
But he warns that faith only in words is dead.

To explain this, he shared a story of an old man who refused to take his money to the bank. When the country changed its currency, all his money lost value.
He compared this to Christians who have “faith without works” — a faith that “has lost its value.”

He said he chose the title so Christians can examine their lives and see whether their actions match their beliefs.

 A Message Against Laziness

Dr Hakizimana also teaches that God does not want lazy believers.
He explains that poverty is often caused by refusing to work, and laziness destroys families, churches, and communities.
He encourages Christians, especially the youth, to work hard and build a better future.

What Others Said About the Book

Rev. Prof. Ndikumana Viateur

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Kibogora Polytechnic praised the book, saying it helps people understand how to live a complete and healthy life. He said the book teaches unity, cooperation, and love within communities.
According to him, if people follow the lessons in the book, Rwanda could become “a paradise of hard work and spiritual growth.”

Rev. Pst. Ndayizeye Isaïe, ADEPR

He also appreciated the book and said it is bold because it even challenges pastors who fall into bad habits. He said true ministry must be based on truth, love, and teachings that help people grow spiritually.
He added that Christian leaders must care for their members every day, not only during church services.
